Selecting an Advisor
A survey of 1,200 investors found that 92.3% of investors interviewed multiple advisors with a goal of selecting one. For lack of a better way, most investors use a subjective process to select an advisor. Lower quality advisors rely on their personalities, brand names, and a well-honed sales presentation to tell investors what they want to hear. Usually this information is verbal, making it easy to misrepresent, omit, and someday deny.
We recommend following this strategy
1. Obtain objective 3rd Party information at www.paladinregistry.com 2. Use their free content in the Investor Information Center. 3. Go View Advisor or Firm Documents or firms you are interested in. 4. Go to Rate your Current Advisor and use questionnaire and rating system. No registration is required. 5. If an advisor is not registered, click on Send Questionnaire to non member to objectively rate them.
When you make an objective decision, you will likely end up with a quality advisor.
